Annual General Meeting April 28th 2014 Aspley Guise Village Hall

We are now in the Club’s 34th year and will be able to celebrate the 60th year of the Isabella which was announced in June 1954.

The AGM took place in the Aspley Guise Village Hall, meeting at the pub from 12.00 pm onwards, and thereafter at the Village Hall from 2.30 pm onwards.

The weather was fabulous.

There were 6 cars, 2 Coupes of Mat Hunt and Colin Fortnum (both beautifully restored), Nick Driscoll’s Big 6 and his Deutsch Coupe (driven by Fiona), my TS Saloon (on the road again after a 51 year hibernation) and Graham Manders’ magnificent Isabella Cabriolet – shame no Combi then we would have had a full house!

The pub grub was excellent as usual as was the company which included Norman Williams, George Sinclair, Ian Cave, Walter Heale, John Wallis, Gavin and Liz Watson, Pete Grove, my son Oliver (who co-drove my TS) Miles Robinson and his wife and Keith Whiting.

The meeting took the usual format (the Minutes will be produced separately), followed by tea and biscuits.

Pete Grove decided to step down as treasurer and Colin Fortnum has taken over – Pete, thank you for all you have done over the years, it has been much appreciated and it gave me great pleasure to propose that he be made an Honorary Member and the unanimous support given for this proposal.

A very good day was had by all and as one of the six founder members (“The Serious Six!”) it warms the cockles of my heart to see the club not only having survived all these years but also going from strength to strength – long may it continue!
