Techno-Classica Essen 2012

Techno-Classica Essen is always a huge show the largest in Europe and well worth a visit if only to see the vast number of Borgwards and Lloyds.

Borgward main club stand in Hall 2

Ulrich Kotte and Birgit Kasper have owned this Deutsch Cabriolet for over 30 years this and the Combi below make up part of a Borgward collection of over 20 cars.

Combi tailgate hinge.

This Isabella Combi has the upward opening tailgate, revised seats and dash board of the very late cars, it also has been converted to L.P.G.

The engine was fitted the day before the show and its first run was a trip to Essen.

This 1959 Borgward Isabella Cabriolet could be yours for only 95,600 € One of only 20 examples of this Fa.Deutsch/Koln car

Automobiliar Schreiber had 2 Isabella Deutsch Cabriolets on display.

In one of the autojumble halls Autodus had a stand selling Borgward group parts. He also has a website. http://www.autodus.de/

Rather interesting trailer being towed by the Coupé both for 30,000 €

Many of the outside cars were for sale, this 1960 Cabriolet 55,000 €

The Lloyd Club were upstairs with 3 cars on display.

I was able to obtain some information for Ian cave who is in the process of restoring 2 cars.

A rather nice Isabella saloon was on display in the basement Hall 1A. The owner was helped by an ex Isabella production line technician who used to build the cars in 1960.

Perfect.
